MilesSafari - how to request points?

I've been monitoring my MileSafari 2006 (+Jan 2007) points. I notice that they seem to fall into 3 categories for me:

Book/Fly on nwa.com = 5
Web check in/SSD check in = 5
Qualifying travel = 10

For my last 5 R/T flights (2 in December and 3 in January) my points have posted irregularly: the second Dec and second Jan trips are missing the Book/Fly on nwa.com points, and on the others it's random whether these points post with the outbound or return flight (no big deal).

I called this morning to request the missing points. The gentleman I spoke with seemed to have no idea what I was talking about. He said he'd have to check with his service center. (Hmmm... I thought he was the service center.)

Came back after a 5 minute hold and said, "The woman at the desk says that promotion ended a long time ago. Thanks for calling Northwest Airlines."

I stopped him cold and gave him my dates of travel (also offered booking ref and ticket numbers, but all he would take was dates).

He came back and said they were having trouble with their computer systems. Then what he said really blew me away: "She says that you have x55 points. Next level is at y00 points and these missing points clearly won't get you there, so she's wondering why you're worrying about this."

I took a deep breath and said, "I am not finished traveling this month. In fact, I am flying NWA today. With that travel and these missing points, I will cross the next threshold. Would you kindly ask your desk manager to continue to find a way to credit the MileSafari points I've earned?"

After another hold, he returned and said, "The computer still isn't picking it up automatically. She'll check it again at the end of the month." And he hung up.

Am I doing something wrong? Admittedly, I called the general number rather than the Platinum line, but shouldn't the service have been a little more "with it"?

I had trouble with MileSafari points posting and a simple letter to NW via the TTU worked really well.

With NW promotions, I'd start with this method rather than calling.

Excellent advice! I've never used TTU, but from what I've read, they're pretty responsive on the other side.

So perhaps you might find out why your points aren't posting as well?
