Approximate distances
I noticed recently that NWA can give you slightly different mileage counts pre-trip between their "flight reservation details" viewable online, and the "trip summary" they email you. They aren't very different (6 miles on a MSP-LAX flight, 9 for MSP-JFK). But I'm cutting it close on an EOY MR for status and it actually puts me short if I use the numbers from the online reservation details, but I make it if I use the emailed trip summary.
I wonder why they would be different. Perhaps they take these numbers from different databases? Does anyone know if one or the other source is more accurate?
