2007 Worldperks Program Year Announcement

Look for a Press Release from NW Worldperks on 1/25/07 with all the details.

The program changes cannot be discussed until 1/25/07 - There are improvements that will make the program even better.

Thank heavens there will be improvements, and not enhancements!

I thought last year they released the info in mid December? hopefully it will be worth waiting for.

So long as they're exciting, that's all that matters. ;)

I do believe they were announced in January this past year.

Any SWUs for Plat?

Good to know. :) I look forward to reading about the new 2007 Worldperks Program Year.

I guess after 1/25/2007 we can talk about ....2008 Worldperks Program unless NWA will be bought out or merge with another airline. ;)

What are the odds of there being SWU's for Plats? I'm 3283 miles short with no flights planned, living in northern Japan. Trying to decide if it's worth making a special trip from NRT to HKG or perhaps a NRT-ICN in B with a nested trip to PUS on KE.

The wait for this "announcement" is worse than clearing an upgrade. ;)

Not announcing the changes till then is, of course, designed to ensure that current Plats won't bail before then and will fly for a few weeks thinking things will be the same or better.

Of course, this is the 30 or so days notice that all the programs promise in their terms and conditions. If all the changes were positive, NW would have no reason at all to wait to make any announcements, would they?

What a tease! Arrrghhhh.

psychtobe Nov 5, 2006 5:14 pm

I'd need 18,000 EQMs for plat. if SWUs are part of the deal I might go for it...

The Truth Commission Nov 5, 2006 5:17 pm

Besides what are listed on the elite website, what are some of the other benefits currently being awarded to Plats? For instance, as a GE, I receive complimentary Starwood Gold status, Alaska upgrade certs (which I can't get w/an Asian mailing address), and hotel/car rental bonus miles. What increased benefits are there for Plats?

kb1992 Nov 5, 2006 5:21 pm

I guess there won't be SWUs

To be competitive, NW ought to think about offering 4-6 SWUs to Plats who had 100k EQMs. Or international high mileage flyers have no incentive to fly NW (unless they are based in DTW/MSP). @:-) @:-)

However, that's not going to happen. NW's 332/333 aircrafts have such a low percentage of WBC seats vs coach seats. The airline simply can't afford to giving away premium cabin seats for free via SWUs to its most loyal customers.

But what is the percentage of those WBC seats that are filled? On most of the trans-Pacific flights I have been on, very rarely is WBC booked to capacity.

I hate to say it, but I have a sinking feeling you are right. Have they ever waited this late to announce the changes? I seem to remember it usualy happening earlier. They might have hooked all the plats in by waiting that long, but still doesn't matter. They change the program for the worse, the elites will just leave in droves starting February.
