Sure a lot of posts for something we're not supposed to discuss. ;)

GTITAN Nov 5, 2006 6:21 pm

I seriously doubt they will do SWUs for anyone, but not to open old wounds, but I wager that the trigger is getting pulled with Delta and EUA.

No, I don't think so. This appears to be par for the course. See above link.

's ok, I won't tell anyone. ;)

I'm not going to fret. I have a pretty good belief that things are going to get better, but there's no point in announcing it earlier than they've done in years past.

The 2007 Program will be an improvement (not an enhancement)

I believe all members will be pleased with the '07 program.

We will have to be patient and wait for the Worldperks Press Release on 1/25/07.

The new Worldperks program year doesn't begin until 3/01/07, so its not like we are missing out on any bonus points!

I agree. Why would we be unable to discuss things until 1/25/07 unless contractual arrangements with other airlines were involved? If NW was making a unilateral improvement in its own program (eg SWUs) it would be to its advantage to make the announcement now. If the improvement is CO/NW/DL-wide, or at least NW/DL-wide (since CO and DL compete perhaps more than DL and NW or CO and NW), then a synchronised announcement could easily be planned.

At this stage in the 2007 program (almost 4 months out), this information could be compared to "corporate secrets". NW may have the alliances with CO/DL, but it still competes with AA/UA/US/etc. and if those other airlines wanted to react by "upping the ante" for their programs, they'd have time to do it. All the major FF programs start their program year around the same time, so it's reasonable to assume NW doesn't want the cat out of the bag just yet.

Radiocycle Nov 5, 2006 8:49 pm

That's the reason the program changes are not announced until late January

To precent competitors from adjusting their loyalty program, NW (and almost every other airline loyalty program) wait until appr. 30 days prior to the new program year to "officially" announce the program changes.

RC

It's 25 days of flying one could do on another airline if they don't like the terms and/or conditions.

The program changes cannot be discussed until 1/25/07 - There are improvements that will make the program even better.

RC - Your post is a joke - Either share the information or keep silent.

25 days of flying plus another 3 weeks of tickets being booked for those of us that book in advance

Exactly. The whole concept of "program year" is unnecessary in this day. Either status should end January 1 or the earning calendar should start March 1.

I agree with yogimax. This thread only tells us the date the press release is coming out.

NWsilverflyer Nov 5, 2006 11:49 pm

This is completely asinine. Let's get some new NW forum moderators. Schmutzig, care for a promotion? RC is WAY too inside baseball. This thread exemplifies why the NW FT forum cannot be trusted - the whole "i'll tell you 3 months from now" thread is really ridiculous. How can we recall RC???

RichMSN Nov 5, 2006 11:55 pm

TOS, dude. TOS.

----------------

In fact, I, for one, do appreciate knowing that NW thinks so little of its WP members that it won't announce any changes until current loyal members have 3-7 weeks of tickets purchased. I'm considering buying all my tickets on another airline for early 2007 until I hear the changes. This way, if I don't like them, I can get a comp and move. If I am OK with the changes, I'll still easily requalify PLAT.

So RC, thanks for that.
