Flight cancellations

Anyone else seeing flight cancellations a week or so out? I'm heading to DFW next Monday and was on flight 540 FNT-DTW and flight 705 DTW-DFW arriving in DFW at 11:22AM. I received email today that flight 540 had been cancelled for next Monday and I was rebooked on afternoon flights out of FNT and DTW and not arriving in DFW until 9:00PM. I checked the schedule and it looks like the Sunday evening DTW-FNT flight (which overnights and returns as flight 540) was cancelled as well. Note these are one-time cancellations for these flights and not permanent schedule changes. I know NW and DL were cancelling flights with low bookings recently, but had thought this practice had ended.

The 9:00PM arrival was unacceptable as I have a meeting at 1:00 PM in Dallas. I was able to get Northwest to route me FNT-MSP-DFW, but the MSP-DFW segment is completely full, so I was unable to get a seat assignment.

I'd think about biting the bullet on this one and just try flying out of DTW.

Watch out for the construction at US23 and I94....

There's still an I-94 entrance?

Heh, that's one heck of a detour for someone in Ann Arbor (okay, I know this was directed to BobH).

I had thought seriously about switching to a direct from DTW, but I really need all the extra EQM's I can get (my wife thinks the idea of mileage run's is hideous and she just barely tolerates me flying out of FNT and TOL).
