Question regarding retaining Silver

Currently a SE, I need 264 miles or 2 segments to retain my status for next year. As of right now I am not scheduled for any trips the remainder of the year, so my question is can I make a purchase through WP Mall and will those miles count toward the miles I need in order to retain Silver? Thanks!

Nope. You need to fly.

I don't know where you fly out of, but currently there seems to be a lot of opportunities for a same day, short and kind of cheap round trip flight (under $150 total) on NW that would get you at least 1000 EQM or 2 EQS (CO and DL also count so you could check there as well, but not all CO fares count 100% ... check the nwa.com web site under the WP tab).

In the best case, you could probably accomplish it in about 3 hours (e.g. DTW-ORD-DTW) plus of course time for driving, parking and security .... worst case probably only a few hours more (even intra-Europe and intra-Asia should have similar short, same day, round trip opportunities on KL, AF, Korean, et.al. if you buy your ticket far enough ahead)

But it would cost him $375 for a WC membership w/ 1000 EQM's.

I would break that down to $200 in lieu of flying and $175 for a year's membership -- a really good deal for a non-elite.

Is it 500 EQM's or 1000 EQM's? I've seen both posted.
