The return of pillows?

OK, maybe I've lost my mind and they've always been there, but: On NW 161 from MSP to SEA last Wed, there were actually pillows in first class. Pillows. Fluffy. Clean. Of the likes I don't recall seeing since, say, March.

When I asked an FA (I suspect, in some travel-haze induced amazement) she said they probably hadn't been taken off the previous flight. Which made me wonder if they were still used in first on some flights, perhaps international?

Or after 160K+ actual domestic air miles so far this year, have I indeed lost my mind? If so, this is a great way to go -- I snagged one for the flight.

Was it an early-morning flight? I thought they were keeping pillows on red-eyes?

The pillows are available on red-eyes, at least in first.

Not always. I've flown several red-eyes recently and none of them had pillows except the one I flew last night. When I asked the FA if pillows were making a comeback, I was told that they were only on the plane as the previous flight on this aircraft was a charter.

3:23pm departure. So definitely not early morning, at least in its departure time zone.

Could we change the title of this thread to "Pillow Talk?"

Talking

If you ever want to have fun...take an airline pillow and look at it under black light....Creepy crawley thingies all ofer them....Blankets are worse.

I am sure that if I ever took my black light into a hotel room, I would never travel again

If I am looking for a blanket, I always try to find one that is still in the plastic bag (they are not always available though, but more times than not I am able to find one) ...

I've seen pillows up in First Class on several of my flights to/from Hawaii. Can't remember if we loaded them in Seattle on the way out, or in HNL/Maui on the way home......

They are also placed at every seat for NFL charters, and it can take a couple of flights before they 'disappear'.
