I mentioned the "Reverse Pyramid" boarding last week at NWA World HQ

I mentioned reverse pyramid boarding last week when I was meeting in Eagan. The problem with it for NWA is that Elites value pre-boarding and having the chance to stow rollerboards and carry-on luggage. If you let 60 or 85 Elites pre-board using a Reverse Pyramid boarding process doesn't work.

I don't expect NWA to change from Elite pre-boarding to reverse pyramid boarding anytime soon.

Why not leave pre-boarding as it is, and then use the reverse pyramid for everyone else? The elites should be settled in their seats by the time the rest of the plane starts boarding.

It isn't like elites board by row today.

Well, that is if they don't abandon pre-boarding...

Didn't they do the window-middle-aisle thing on Shuttle by United and then abandon it?

I did a recent JetBlue flight -- since they were using front and rear doors (listening, NW?) they strted from the middle. Perfect, since I had the exit row.

I sincerely hope such a thought is never seriously considered. Its just my opinion but Elite Pre-boarding is probably one of the top 3 most important elite benefits. There has already been a high complaint level when they waive elite boarding when there are 'too many' elites on a flight.

Taking the benefit away across the board would probably encourage an Elite revolt NW probably doesn't need right now.
