Separate check-in ---> split PNR

Wife & I are flying on award tickets tomorrow. I (gold) am eligibile for upgrades; wife (silver) is not.

Since I don't have a working printer at home & was in a bit of a rush, I checked in only myself to get on the upgrade list as early as possible. Now at work I checked in my wife & redid mine to print my BP's -- it appears we now have two separate PNR's with separate confirmation #'s.

This won't have any impact on us, but I could see some ramifications in some circumstances (e.g. non-elite companions in elite seating & platinum companions) if you check people in separately for whatever reason.

Beware -- check everyone in together if others depend on your status in any way!

Interesting information. I have award tickets myself with my wife later next week. I'm Gold, she doesn't have a WP account. I'm wondering if doing the same would get me on the UG list by checking in online seperately. She's in 5F the whole way, so I don't want to risk her losing her P seat if I do this, however.

Feels like I'm rolling the dice... not sure how lucky I feel.
