I want to upgrade my spouse and myself to FC on a trip to Hawaii.
But due to a few family emergencies I am 17K miles short.
I have a couple of trip before the end of the month that would give me another 7.5K, but should I wait to purchase the tickets until the end of the month?
The question is; can I have my son transfer 10K at at cost of $125
and can I aslo buy 7.5K at a cost of $235 and is it worth it?

Clarification - you are trying to upgrade your ticket? Did you purchase them already? The reason why I ask...you want to make sure there is availability before you transfer/purchase the miles. You don't want to spend all that money and not upgrade in the end esp since upgrades to Hawaii are hard to come by. Just a thought...

Hmmm...to earn more miles...you can get the WP Visa card. That should get you some bonus miles. I think 15,000 bonus miles, but it may take a month or two for the bonus miles to post. Also, you can do it in conjunction with the Fly Free Faster promotion (10,000 bonus miles). All the information is on the NWA.com website. I think this is 'cheaper' that the transfer and purchase route (but it's not faster).

I have not purchased yet - I had forgotten about the FFF - I certainly have the flights, Is it to late to use the WP Mall and get the credit by the end of August? Anyone know from Experience?

And how can you find out how many - if any - credits I may already have? Thank you

It really depends on the merchant, but it might be worth a try. You might as well get something for the miles vs just paying to transfer or buy miles. Have you signed up for the FFF promo yet? If so, you should be able to see your points if you go to 'Worldperks', 'Manage My Account', and then 'Points Summary'. If you haven't signed up for it yet, your past qual activities will not count. See T&C.

I signed up way back - and thanks for the info, I have 2 points.
So I bought a $25.00 gift cert from WorldPerks Mall using my WP Visa.
And then I transferred 5K mile from Priority Club using points.
So in theory I should have picked up 3 more points and qualified for the 10K miles?

Yep...that should get you the bonus miles! However, I don't know if all the points will post by the end of the month, but probably sometime in Sept. Can you wait that long?

Good choice with going with giftcertificates.com...my miles posted after three weeks or so? My WP Visa miles post a day or two after the close of my last statement (make sure your previous 2 points are not from your WP Visa since you can only get 1 point for WP Visa as a partner activity). As for transferring miles/points...I'm not sure how long it takes to post. From the other folks here, after all is said and done, it takes a few days before the 10K post.

Is the "SuperSize" option still available? 2K miles for $20, used automatically the next time you fly, as I recall.

If you have a couple more trips, that could yield 4K.
