Comp Status and FF Miles
Hi...
I'm new to this group; please forgive me if this has been discussed.
Question 1: does NW offer any type of comp elite status? I've been a United 1K member for a number of years, but my work is now in NW hub cities
Question 2: I have a number of miles in NW, DL and CO accounts; is there any method of transfering/combining these?
Thanks in advance...

Yes you can try to get a comp but not likely to get the Plat. They often will give you a challege as well to get status, just ask. I too have many CO DL an NW miles....no real way to combine that i KNow of and if there is a way you would lose lots of value. HOwever, they are redeemable on each other, so once you have enough for a free ticket on say DL, you can us the miles on NW.

You can get a comp but they won't comp you to plat. On top of that, you'll only have a few months to get to Plat for 2006, but if you're a 1k now, that may not be difficult.
I can't say gold will work for you unfortunately. Do you fly out of SNA or LAX most of the time? Upgrades from LAX are HARD to get, usually a slew of plats competing for them. I'm a silver and don't even bother trying most of the time when I fly ex-LAX. Not sure about SNA but YMMV.
Enjoy!

I am told that CO is the only airline of the six majors in the US that comps to its top tier, Plat. However, try that one instead, as your status/miles on CO are basically NW currency as well.

I don't know what NW does, but CO is tough on giving out EQMs. For many discount NW (and DL) fares on NW operated flights I only get 50% EQMs, even if CO is listing the NW flight as a CO code-share, and I booked it on continental.com. The only way to get 100% EQMs for discount CO fares on CO operated planes is to book on continental.com.
You may need to factor the EQM earning rules into your decision.
