My wife is an NWA gold. She and a client are booked for a conference upcoming tomorrow. She upgraded because they were from different companies and not on same itinerary. Is there anyway to bump her companion besides showing up at the airport 12 hours early. There are 2 seats remaining in FC and worldperks has told her all status upgrade have been run. They said she must get on the standby list at the airport or gate. Any advice? Need this soon. Thanks anyone in advance. As stated previously I have never flown NWA so I have no knowledge of there practices.

golds are permitted companion upgrades at the gate, space permitting - but i think they have to be on the same PNR.

Upgrade
Gold may place one companion on the F/C standby list at the gate. They are pretty much at the bottom of the priority heap when it comes to upgrades though and clear only after accommodating any Elites (Plat, Gold & Slv) on the standby list first. I would get there early and be sure to at least be the first on the standby list as it relates to companion upgrades.

Does it have to be at the gate. I have heard you can call at 12:00 and place a person on the list. Any thoughts.

My experience is only at the gate.

Only at the gate and I think I've heard only 2 hours or less before the flight.
