upgrade of FF miles tickets?

Do WP elite flyers ever get upgraded from coach on award coach tickets (including "rule buster" level tickets)?

Yes, but only domestically, of course.

That is correct. See the 2004 Elite Benefits Guide, Page 2. Upgraded on 'Discount Coach ticket' upgrade rules, has to come out of 'A' fare bucket though. Does not happen very often, depends n the route & timing.

I'm flying MSY-DTW-BWI-MSP-MEM-MSY on a standard award ticket for the holidays. I'm in MSP and have been upgraded (as Gold) on all flights so far.

MSY-DTW was at on-line checkin (not at the 72 hour mark)
DTW-BWI was after on-line checkin and the WC agent got me the FC boarding pass prior to takeoff
BWI-MSP was at the 24 or 48 hour window I believe

Hopefully my next flights will be as successful.
