I'm stuck around 30K miles so far and am certain to lose my Plat status thanks to nothing but short hops to YWG all year. This happened once before (2002) and I was dropped to Gold even though I had again only flown about 30K miles.
Should I expect this to happen again as there's precedent? I'm not in a financial position to do any mileage runs (tempting as that MSP-CDG fare is). I mean, it's not the end of the earth to get smacked down to Silver, but it's better to be Gold. I think the only time I was ever Silver was my first year in WP and then only til I hit 50K miles.

I don't have first hand experience, but as the issue posted will probably happen to me some day, I carefully read every thread posted here on this topic, along with actual results.
Based on the personal results I've seen posted in similar NW threads in the last year, including a few in the last 2 months, my prediction is that NW will hold you at Gold Elite, and not drop you down to Silver.
