TCV Usage Help Please
Hi,
I am relatively new here, and a low yield flyer trying to make sense of a NW Transportation Credit Voucher I received.
It is for a voluntary bump I received in January (so it should expire jan 2005), and it is for a roundtrip flight in US/Canada/Alaska
The stipulation is that fare must be in W class.
I have searched around via the search tool, the FAQ and NW's website, but I can't find an easy way to locate the W fare Class and how to check availability without calling the reservation number each time. I have tried several trips but there is extreme lack of flights for my desired itinerary.
I am looking at the following
SEA->SBN
departing SEA oct 14-16
Departing SBN Oct 18-20
Ideally with at least a few days in SBN (ie not oct 16-oct 18)
One other option was for holiday travel ~Dec 21 - ~Jan 5
SBN-PHX
I am a college student so there is some flexibility, but the CSR said only could leave Dec 15th (or preumably earlier) or Jan 6th. I have the option of flying out of or into chicago (instead of SBN) assuming I can find a NW flight in W class. I just wanted to clarify any other experiences since I am getting frustrated and want to find an easy way to look for flights in this class without calling.
I did try the links off of http://flyaow.com/class.htm with no luck, couldn't find the W fare class.
I appreciate any insight you can provide, and can provide additional information as necessary. I realize I am making this difficult on myself by using a minor/regional airport like SBN and with dates near holliday travel, but maybe I can transfer this coupon or extend the date in some way so I could use it on a non holiday season flight. I am just hoping to find a way to look for eligible flights easily. Thanks for helping this newbie out.

This might not be the best answer, but there is always the South Shore Line train from SBN to Chicago...That gives you the options of MDW and ORD. One way is $10.35 and opens up a whole new world of possibilities (like using DTW, MSP, or MEM instead of just DTW). And don't forget the bonus of grabbing a quick Italian Beef sandwich before the flight out!!!

W class is the same as a standard award ticket. Just search nwa.com for standard award availability on the dates you want, and you will know exactly what flights are open for your voucher. This is how I found my flights for my bump voucher when I was looking for a booking.

Thanks Gary for the quick response, Chicago is a totally enjoyable option as transportation via car, rail, or bus is relatively easy and cheap, I am just trying to find out how to locate suitable flights and options in W class so I don't have to run through a million iterations with the booking agent.
