I was hoping someone familiar with booking space would be able to tel me if the following flight has a good overbook/oversell potential.

Im on the flight and would like to be prepared in case an oversold situation arise

[1] LAX NRT 27/1315 28/1645 NW1 J4 C1 Z0 Y1 B1 MC QC VC LC TC KC [742]

Looks pretty promising to me with just 5 seats available for *sale*. The flight might already be oversold. NW will happily sell lots of full price J & Y tickets ... the math is in their favor big time.

Thanks doglover..

Im booked in WBC on this flight... but the compensation for intl is preety compelling reason to hang for a day..

They'd be less willing to bump you off of WBC...

Keep checking ITN for the loads. It's still early with 5 days out and loads change pretty frequently. No guarantee they'll even be asking for volutneers and even with goose eggs, the flight might still be even.

That's right. It is unlikely they will bump off WBC pax. The flight still looks ok with those #'s. NWA has been pretty good with this guessing game lately...I've been on a number of Int'l flights, but was never asked. My guess is that there is an avg of 20 no shows on these flights. But you never know, sometimes they offload because of strong head wing, heavy cargo load etc etc. Last week, I was on SFO/NRT and asked a SFO agent how much is NW handing out to off loaders.... about $600 she said. (FYI, the flight was over booked by 15 or so, and we departed with a full WBC and a few empty seats in Y. Out of luck for me, couldn't u/g with miles.)
