The media seems to have a short lag in their reporting, like it has quite often had regarding the Covid situation in Finland. When the numbers starting rising in the beginning of March, the media didn't report anything about Covid. Now they are writing about the surge that started already three weeks ago. The 7-day incidence numbers turned into a clear decline about a week ago, but the media doesn't seem to be confident enough to write about it yet.

What's the current mask situation in Finland? I've noticed that the recommendation to wear masks has been removed - did most people ditch them or are they still commonly worn?

(I'm aware that airports still require them, but that's not an issue as I would be taking a ferry.)

Most of the people stopped using masks, but there is still a large minority wearing masks at least in Helsinki. On the buses I travelled from work today about one third used masks. Commuting has always been the time for highest mask usage, so in the evening you could see lot less masks.

Finavia dropped their mask recommendation on airports yesterday.

I can confirm that I wasn't asked or forced to wear a mask on four AY flights in June 2022.
