Le Colonial Restaurant NYC
Has anyone dined here before. I have never tried Vietnamese food, however, the menu at Le Colonial looks great.
Any comments on this resto?
Thanks

Went there once a couple of years ago. A wonderful lounge on the upper level and a great restaurant downstairs. Must try. Rain on the upper west side is great for Vietnamese as well.

Have been three times. (Hate unadventurous business dinners).

I have been there several times and totally agree with the negative comments regarding the food. The upstairs bar area is really a cool environment to hang out in, and has an active singles scene.
Rain is an excellent choice if you are looking for that type of food. A word to the wise, if you do dine at Rain, order just one appetizer and one entree at a time. The food flys out of the kitchen, and if you don't order in this fashion, you will be finished so fast, you will think it was a dinner.

I agree that the upstairs bar is very nice and they have excellent spring rolls but it is pricey and perhaps a bit overated, IMHO.
I'd go downtown to Nha Trang and the newer one on Center (off Walker/White) might be a bit nicer and less crowded too!
