Grammys May Move to New York
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Speculation intensified Friday that the Grammy Awards would leave the West Coast after a four-year run in Los Angeles.
A source knowledgeable about the ceremony told The Associated Press on condition of anonymity that next year's show would not be held at Staples Center, where it has been held the past three years.
Officials with the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences, which stages the Grammys, declined to comment Friday but scheduled a news conference in New York for Wednesday to make what they called a "major announcement." Typically, Grammy officials announce their next show in the city where it will be held.
