Forecast for Maple Sap Gathering
Tradition has it that tree-tapping should begin around Town Meeting Day, and for the first time in several years it looks like many sugarmakers will observe this custom.

ARLINGTON There is homeland security to worry about and conference calls with the White House to take and lawmakers to attend to, but Gov. James Douglas made time Friday to tap Vermonts ceremonial maple tree.
