Plenty of hotels without resort/facility fees. Feel free to chose them. Me? I look at the total cost and don't really care what they call the fees. $5 for 'water in the toilet' fee? That's fine with me if the total is less than the comparable place with no fees but a higher overall cost.
wrp96 may have Bingo with the skating championships, but I really think prices will be even higher than you are seeing for an event of that magnitude.
