sleeping in BOS

i have a flight that LANDS in BOS at 105am on 24 dec.

i cannot get picked up by my sister until 7am 24 dec.

accdg to sleepinginairports.com, i cannot sleep airside. i must exit and sleep near baggage claim.

is this true?

fyi, can't afford a motel!

You will have to leave the airside area. You could try to rest near baggage claim or in areas near check-in.

There's a hostel on Stuart Street in Boston, but I'm not sure how you'd get there that late as the subways would be shut down.

Not great. What airline are you arriving on?

Since he has to leave the airside area would it matter what airline he's flying?

True but some terminals have better nooks and crannies than others. I wouldn't want to wander across all of them at 1:30 am.

Can OP just go to a corner of an adjacent gate and crash there? Or does security diligently walk thru after 1am and evict people?

yeah...that's my question!

I don't know the answer to the security sweep question.

In Terminal A landside departures level, there are some corners near the escalators/bathroom/bakery cafe on the left if your'e facing security. Arrivals level is darker and cosier but also more likely to be cold and loud.

FYI, the automated "Attention please, TSA regulations limit carryon baggage..." announcements play all night in every terminal in both the area before security and after security. They are loud.

I don't have personal experience, but I'm fairly certain that Boston is one of those airports where they do evict everyone. (Can't remember the exact thread, but I think it was in this forum that someone mentioned being kicked landside for a few hours before being able to clear security again at 4am.)

sounds like i'm in for a miserable experience!! ha

thanks for your help

Yes, they do evict everyone from airside for a security sweep. They may or may not let you stay landside in the baggage claim area. I heard that they might actually lock all of the doors while the security sweep is occurring

You say your sister can't pick you up until 7 AM. Where are you going?
