Grabbed a car from National on Thursday morning, it was pretty grim. I've just started back up with my travel - so I'm hopeful from the other posts here that I was just picking up at a particularly bad time.
ES
2x Ford F150
1x Dodge Charger
1x Chevy Traverse
EA
Completely empty
The Enterprise section looked to be filled a bit better. It probably had a dozen cars. Nothing notable though - mostly uninspiring sedans, small SUVs and 4x white cargo vans.

I've picked up from DCA before where its been pick your asian sedan, and that's underwhelming. At least the Charger or the pick ups are interesting.
I think the days of finding a Lincoln or a Volvo in the aisles (as I have done previously in DCA) are behind us sadly.

I must give it a whirl soon, I owned a Passat when I was in Europe so I'm fond of VW.

It's nothing special. It's a decent but thoroughly generic car. I haven't driven the updated model, though.

Had an issue with a Mercedes C300 before and they brought one of those Chryslers to swap it out. I actually burst out laughing in the dudes face as he explained they're equivalent classes for National.

Assuming the Mercedes is in base trim, I'd take the Chrysler 300 with heated/cooled seats, sunroof, premium audio, and RWD platform almost every time.

The "luxury" Chrysler 300 I rented this weekend lacked cooled seats and sunroof. Also RWD + crappy tires = terrifying to drive in the rain.

Yeah that's fair, the Merc was a AMG though (can't remember which trim level of AMG it was). I just struggle to like the 300s full stop, just a blocky drug dealery type auto.

On 8/11 around 10am, maybe 6-8 cars:
Infiniti Q60 (see below), 33k miles but otherwise quite a decent car for ES
RAV4
Nissan sedans
A couple of others, nothing particularly interesting aside from the Q60 I took.
As a side note, there was an Aston Martin on display in the Enterprise Exotics stall
8/13 on return:
again, ~8 cars, many of which seemed to be Nissan sedans, but also a Mustang IIRC (didn't see trim level). There was a Q5 in what I think are the upgrade spots.
