Executive Aisle was full of boring SUVs and little sedan options. I was told that it's spring break in Canada this week so they have been renting out a lot of vehicles. I didn't expect the YYZ National lot to be this small. It didn't look like the pictures other people posted here. I never saw a PS section. Am I tripping, or they moved to a different part of the lot since 2023?
I noticed a row of more prestigious vehicles and I asked the attendant if those are available or reserved. Truth be told, when I mentioned that I was EE they were happy to let me pick from that row. This is my first time using National and they are giving a great impression so far (vs Hertz).
1x Brand new Mustang Convertible with 172km (which I took)
1x Volvo V90 Cross Country with 7k km (I really debated getting this vs the Mustang)
1x Volvo XC90
1x Jeep Wagoneer
1x Mazda CX90
1x Infiniti QX60
1x BMW X3 (but that was gone before I made my decision)

I need a car for 5 days in from YYZ and back in October. Flying with BA so tempted to book with Avis/Budget, are they good at Pearson, is their desk and cars connected to the terminal or a shuttle bus? Any better option?

I have seen many BMW 330is at YYZ, but this was last year and BMWs seem to be rarer now in the fleet.Other possible options are the A4, S60 (seems more common in the fleet), Q50 (rare but possible), C Class (very rare I think),

When I was at YYZ last spring, the aisle had a lot of Chrysler 300s, and the agents were selling me to choose the Chrysler 300 because it is a Luxury Car (it was back then). However, I believe Chrysler 300s are now very rare, especially since it is no longer in production and I don't think National keeps cars for more than 6-12 months. To be honest, aside from some dated tech and its fuel economy, I quite like the Chrysler 300 for its unique driving dynamics and I am desperately trying to rent one before they are gone forever (or maybe they are already gone - have not seen single Chrysler 300 over my last 15 rentals at various National locations when it used to be a near guarantee just a year ago to get a Chrysler 300 from the aisle).

Hi everyone,
I remember being able to book the American Muscle category with National last year, and I got a nice 5.0 Mustang. I've also seen a couple of people return the 2024 5.0 Mustang to Pearson. Is there anyway to book that car specifically? Or just happenstance that a mustang was out on the emerald aisle or at the executive selection?

Sometimes you can book the class directly but it seems rare (but I usually only do 1-2day rentals so the inventory is more restricted than if you want a longer duration). I find that the Enterprise side usually lets you book a much wider selection of car classes at all times and the fleet between the two brands is the same.
you could also try emailing/calling them to see if they can manually override the system for you
