Glen,

Perhaps you'd like to explain?

Markbach posted to a wrong forum by accident, says sorry so then you point him to a "flame bait" thread?

What was the meaning of this? My limited dutch humor does not compute...

Most certainly ScottC. The title of THIS thread IMO seems to more aptly apply to another very sad thread nearby. It was just interesting wording. It was in NO way a reflection/commentary on Markbach, and I advised him of that on livechat the moment I posted.

YOUR post there (dredging up a 7 month old thread that you bizarrely appear to admit was nothing but "flame bait") in THAT referenced thread was followed immediately after by this post from CozumelJen that I am sure many here agree with:

<font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">PLEASE PLEASE why don't ALL OF YOU JUST STOP?! This is really, really, really getting so disgusting. All of these personal attacks. I can't read OMNI any more due to all of you, now I can't read Community either. Don't all of you have better things to do? I am sure I am not the only one thinking of leaving here because they are just fed up with all of these attacks that go on and on and on and add nothing!</font>
You, smessier, FewMiles, and often hfly have done the same thing mostly together on MANY threads lately. So the title of THIS thread to me summed those actions up rather nicely.

As this thread was already here, and clearly had nothing to do with Community, I imagine it will find its way shortly to 'misposted threads' anyway.

But as you asked the question ..................

It is nice to know in this ever-changing world, some things remain a constant.

Bzzzzt, incorrect. Thanks for playing. Don't come again. The correct thread is: here.

<font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">Most certainly ScottC. The title of THIS thread IMO seems to more aptly apply to another very sad thread nearby. How very pathetically sad. You don't have any idea what you are talking about, do you? Perhaps had you taken some time and found the correct thread, you would realise that this thread was merely posted in the incorrect thread, as markbach himself indicated in his original post by editing it to indicate his mistake.

You are making connections where there are none, making conjectures based on coincidence, and drawing conclustions from your imagination.

<font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">YOUR post there (dredging up a 7 month old thread that you bizarrely appear to admit was nothing but "flame bait") in THAT referenced thread ... </font>
Your entire premise is faulty, and now you continue with questionable arguments based on shaky foundations. What excellent skills you demonstrate! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/thumbsup.gif

<font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">You, smessier, FewMiles, and often hfly have done the same thing mostly together on MANY threads lately. So the title of THIS thread to me summed those actions up rather nicely. </font>
Oh, so I'm a Jaguar, eh? Those are nice cars.

Back on topic, what are you implying? That we are after you or something? Sounds like a rather paranoid conclusion if you ask me.

<font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">As this thread was already here, and clearly had nothing to do with Community, I imagine it will find its way shortly to 'misposted threads' anyway. </font>
Yes, it's going to be closed most likely.

<font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">But as you asked the question ..................</font>
and you have answered, demonstrating a total lack of discretion. Instead of leaving a misposted thread be, you just had to hijack it and you've stepped into a big pile of crap.

Do you enjoy picking fights or something?

Let me say this once, and once only. Quit your bullying of other people on this board, or there will be plenty of people on your case so bad, you will be hounded everywhere and everytime. You push anyone around (even doc despite any disagreements I have with him) and I will be there to defend them.

Now please leave this thread as it is of no relevance whatsoever to any other issues you may perceive. Perhaps next time you will do markbach the courtesy of asking him what he meant before hijacking his thread for your own purposes.

FewMiles..

doc, must you stick your finger in every pie? Why can't you just stay out of this? It has nothing to do with you or your thread.

I'd really prefer to keep my discussions with you confined to the one thread, thank you kindly. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

I guess I'm not allowed to make an honest mistake without it turning into an international incident. I'm very sorry. I'll be more careful from now on and double check the forum before I post. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/rolleyes.gif

I've emailed Randy to ask him to delete this thread, since it serves no practical value, except for another reminder of the current level of maturity on Flyertalk.

Yeah, right! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

The world according to "FewMiles!" http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

Assuming only a minimally competent reading level, any objective party may easily discern a number of things by following your incessant, harassing FlyerTalk posts here an elsewhere:

-Since Scott, apparently citing the seemingly unrepentent, unreformed, self appointed "King of the Flamers", "CameraGuy" herein, referencing a benign thread I'd initiated above, it manifestly, IMHO, involves me! Clear?

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum95/HTML/002044.html

-Am I not even entitled to ask why Scott has wrongly referred, in this very thread, to my truly benign and rather friendly post, as "flame bait?" FWIW, and surely you'll correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that I may!

-As noted herein, and in the attendant thread as well, it is you who routinely, albeit selectively, and with apparent malice, "elects" to involve yourself in a manner that suits your own personal agenda, at the expense of others, and which, sadly, fans the flames initiated by others, and/or increasingly puts a lighted match to any tinder, anywhere! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

-Would you kindly cite for me, and for any readers of these threads, any pertinent reference that prohibits me, or anyone, from placing my "fingers" anywhere, please? Or is it only you that is permitted to do so? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

-Why would your discussion preferences matter to me? Do my preferences matter to you? Any cursory reading of your prior comments in various threads indicates that you seem to feel, sadly, that somehow it is only your preferences that matter! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

Lastly:

Wow! Perhaps I'm wrong, but this surely sounds like a "real" threat to me! And a potential TOS violation as well!

And why would this apply only to Ozstamps? Shouldn't we all "defend" everyone in the "community" equally, from all those that infringe upon others? I think so!

Admittedly, I found this to be a rather curious comment, aside from the seeming threatening nature of it, since I've personally never felt even remotely harassed by Ozstamps. Yet, and please do correct me if I'm wrong, while many others have harassed me, many times, I do not actually recall you ever having interceded on my behalf, in my defense, in any way, at any time. In fact, my recollection is that you routinely joined in with the harassing parties!

Nontheless, if things have changed, great - I welcome that! Thanks!

FWIW, I too agree that this is an unfortunate thread. Lets put it to bed!

Have a great day everyone! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

-Mark

This will be my final post about this matter, I have no intention of getting involved in a "flame war", I like FT too much and respect it's members too much.

Mark, I referred to that thread as being "flame bait" because it was a flame war, it had become nasty much earlier (admittedly I also had a part in it) and therefore imho Glen's posting to it just invited more people to join in on the flaming, perhaps my words were chosen incorrectly, let's not forget that english isn't my primary language... It was not my intention to flame, cause grief or harass anybody. The main objective voiced in that thread was people annoyance about reposting to old threads, I agree that I should have voiced my opinion in a better manner or in a different part of FT, it clearly didn't belong here, and can assure you I shall learn from this.

Markbach made an honest mistake, he corrected it but Glen didn't see the corrected post in Omni and probably saw this thread as yet another flame, an understandable reaction, my apologies to Glen for my unfriendly response, once more it was not my intention to get him involved in anything or to mock his response.

In the wise words of this sites owner, let's all get back to miles and points (or in the case of my beloved Omni to chatting about facials and cats) http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

We are what make FT such a wonderful place, ups and downs are just part of it, let's not bring the "downs" to flame wars.

Thanks to everyone for your time,

Scott

Please feel free to email me about anything here, I am always open to discussion but think that this has gone on far enough on FT.

(edited cause I can't spell...)
