heathrow to gatwick

What are the transportation options for getting from one to the other?

(We're on United to LTH, friends on Delta to GTW.)

Thanks for any advice.

There's a lot of posts on this subject with a variety of opinions and many are detailed about days of the week and times and costs. I have only done the routing involving the two Express trains and the tube connections between Paddington and Victoria because I trust that to be certain in the amount of time required. However, I am always doing carryon only. If I had baggage I would probably do the coach route if time permitted.

Have you considered flying into MAN instead of LHR? There is a short connecting flight MAN-LGW almost hourly.

This saves LHR-LGW land transfer and multiple modes of transport which is where much can go wrong.
