Idine Hotels and Hotel Points

I apologize if this is the wrong forum or if this has previously been addressed, but I`m new and don't know all the ropes in here just yet.

Can I book a hotel (i.e. a Hilton or Marriot) through Idine Hotels and still get hotel rewards (i.e. such as Hhonors Points or Marriot Rewards points). Seems to me that you get a whole bunch of miles by going through Idine plus all the regular benefits you would get with the Hotel anyways... or is this "double recovery" not allowed?

Any info. is much appreciated.

Thanks

If you prepay a rate through iDine, you in all probability will NOT get hotel points/credit on the back end as well.

With all of these prepay methods, some folks report exceptions where points/stay credit shows up. I've prepaid Marriott, HHonors, and Starwood stays in the past through a variety of third parties and I have never gotten so lucky.

Your incidentals DO count for hotel points at most chains/brands. That's good, because your incidentals DON'T count for iDine credit.

Started a thread on this a month ago and stayed and didn't get credit because you don't even get a chance to see the bill because it is paid by a "consolidator"
