Aeroplan bonus posting
Last October we returned to Australia from a RTW business-class trip. We used Star Alliance rather than our usual oneWorld because we were travelling through Canada.
Air Canada was used LHR-YYZ-YOW-BOS-YYZ-YVR and HNL-SYD. The tickets were booked in C class, except the YOW-BOS sector in a one-class aircraft, and I decided to join Aeroplan and earn some miles for later use with AC.
Our outward journey to Europe was by Thai, and miles were earned in their reward system.
When the statements arrived, the route mileage all was included. We only got 25% bonus for two sectors, YYZ-YOW and YYZ-YVR.
I mailed the boarding passes to Aeroplan Vancouver, and had no acknowledgement.
Subsequently I wrote a long and detailed letter, which was returned after two months with a form covering letter "signed" by Jerry McDonnell, Customer Service Manager, Aeroplan, and over-written with a note that appears to accept that we were booked in C class.
I finally found how to send an complaint, although they make you complete it as a form
on their website, and almost impossible to add attachments (scans of the tickets)
Does this go on a lot? Three sectors out of five eligible not getting correct mileage after two sttempts. four months after the journey was completed?
And does anyone have the e-mail address for Aeroplan complaints, concealed from me so far?

Air Canada is still hide bound in snailmail and fax for customer service. They do not have online forms nor do they give out e-mails. I sent a complaint beginning of the year and they finally got back to me 5 weeks later.
Your best bet is Fax and the fax number should be on the website. I used to be exclusively AC and have been status for severs year but have hedged my bets last year by getting Elite status with NW.

For Air Canada, only domestic C class earns a 25% bonus.
So, your statement was correct. The other legs went outside of Canada and only J class gets you a 25% bonus on those.

I'm going to move this to the Air Canada forum so that it reaches the best audience.
