Triple Miles on Skymiles Shopping
*** UPDATE *** As expected, AAdvantage Shopping just sent me an email with similar promotion for slightly different merchant list.
Included are Home Depot and Sears, but not Nordstrom or Kmart.
Unfortunately, it's not for triple miles, only "bonus miles" (usually 1 extra/$1).
Just got an email announcing triple the usual earning rate for top merchants.
"Hurry -- Offer Ends Soon!"
How Soon They Don't Say.
Doesn't appear targeted.
Free shipping is included.
Merchants listed:
Shoes.com 15 miles/$1
Nordstrom 6 miles/$1
Barnes & Noble 6 miles/$1
Kmart 6 miles/$1
Sears 3 miles/$1
Barnes & Noble 3 miles/$1
Most interesting to me is that other than Shoes.com, these are all solid merchants that I could actually use.
Usually these promotions are on high-markup fluff like flowers and bad steak.
Times must be hard, no?
This is for Delta, but since every other airline has a mileage-earning mall, I'm hoping other, more desirable carriers will join in. Anyone seen any competitors?
Also wondering if anyone has had success purchasing items at one of these malls and returning to brick-and-mortar stores (which they all allow), and keeping the miles.

I've been using onepass shopping portal for bestbuy. 3mi per $. I pick up at the store if there is no free shipping.
It takes several weeks to post but if you return, it's bye bye points.
However, I have purchased AE and Macy's thorough both skymiles and aa's portals...returned the unwanted items to the local stores and the miles stay. Each time enjoyed free shipping.
Does anyone else have any luck with other stores for returning and keeping bonus miles?
