Carry-On luggage Sizers
What airports have installed the "Carry-On Luggage" Sizers (for lack of a better term) at their x-ray scanners? Some of you have first hand experience of this, because if the luggage doesn't fit, you get the privelage of checking your baggage.(This may be in a previous post, if it has I know somebody will let me know the web address).
The only one I've encountered (so far) was in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

United has them at Terminal Seven at LAX. You used to be able to bypass them by entering through Terminal Six, and walking east for about five minutes. I haven't tried that tactic for the six weeks or so.

At DEN, the templates are in the main terminal. You can walk to Concourse A and go through security template-free. Of course it is a bit longer to do that.
At ORD, I have only seen the templates at Terminal 1---UA. I fly out of terminal 3 every week and there are no templates.
Thankfully, my Rollaboard fits thru the template at DEN.

I believe they have the templates at the U-A check-in area at EWR. I remember I saw this little hole and hoped my garment bag would fit through. Luckily it did (I try to pack as little as possible.)
Although I saw people coming on with golf bags and baby strollers and the baby seats and they were told to move to the side (I don't know if they were checked separately.

I remember the templates at Logan, CLE, LGA, IAH, and others. The rule of thumb has been if United has influence at the concourse, you'll find the templates.
At Logan, there was a serious delay at security as a couple of passengers argued that their airline told them to carry their oversized bags to the gate to be gate checked. Since security would not let them through and was holding up the line, a long line of fliers developed. Finally, a security manager arrived and confirmed that, yes, the airline in question did not participate in the template program and to let the guys through.
Thankfully, you will not find the templates at STL concourse B, C, D, or E (my main airport). I don't know about concourse A.
When this template thing occurred, I went out and purchased new luggage to meet the requirements. This is not because of STL, but due to my return flights from "template" cities began causing problems.
You'll find a United thread that provides additional information at:

First time caller...
Be careful in some airports in Australia. In Brisbane my carry on was quite a bit bigger than their "sizer", although the bag had fit everywhere else in the world. It seems that they have a different measurement there...
