One way award travel [Consolidated]

are these the only domestic carriers that offer one way travel - within the domestic 48 states for 15k frequent flier miles/equvalence or less?

Frontier
Alaska
Jet Blue
Air Tran
Southwest
Midwest

Are there Foreign Carriers that will allow the use of their miles on domestic lower 48 usa flights at the 15k ffmile rate or less?
if so could you list them?

BA lets you redeem for a one-way on domestic (all?) AA flights, and pay half the miles.

Note about southwest

With WN, you must earn enough points (16 RR credits) for a RT tkt. Once you get that RT tkt, you may use it as 2 OW's within one year. If you earn 8 RR credits, WN will not credit you with a OW flight.

Flying Blue allows one-way domestic tickets for 12.5K miles

JetBlue is another "sortof" one-way reward. You have to earn 100 points for a r/t and then you are issued two one-way vouchers since they don't actually have r/t flights. So you can redeem for a one way trip, but you have to get enough for the round trip first. That is much different than a program like BD's where you just redeem for a one-way ticket if that's what you want.

I seem to vaguely recall that some certain domestic legacy airlines allow one-way award ticket with half of the miles required for roundtrips as a benefit for its top elite members, but I can't remember which one(s) - or am I making this up?

You can use QANTAS points to redeem oneway on AA.

asiana also does that. As far as I know, there is no restriction, one way is simply 1/2 of the reward needed for roundtrip, system wide.

One-way award ticket

I am not sure where is the best forum to post this one.

I am very curious about "Which airline programs allow one-way award ticket with 50% miles of the round trip award ticket?"

Korean airline allows one-way award ticket for KE flight only.
I believe Asiana does the same thing for OZ flight only.

AA started one-way award ticket (it looks like it is good for all flight in Oneworld airlines)

Do you know any other airlines which allow one-way award ticket with 50% miles of the roundtrip?

This will likely get moved to the MilesBuzz forum, but British Midland (bmi) also allows one-way awards.

AA does, but one big disadvantage (for me) is the elimination of a free international stopover.

Yes, this does seem a question best asked in MilesBuzz!

As such, I'll move it there.
