I need your help

Hello everybody,

I need your help. I have a home improvement business in San Diego and I am in the beginning of establishing a internet business. I would like to find out how I can establish a system for my businesses so I can give a frequent miles to my clients if they choose to use my services. I still dont know much about how this program works and I have a questions like this.

1. Is it difficult is to establish a program like that and what are the main start up problems?

2. How it works I purchase miles and give them to whoever I want. What is the cost and what are the normal trade terms?

3. Did I have to set up a account individually with airlines. Do you have any tips?

4. What are the best information sources for business like this?

5. What kind of training I should get? What I should provide?

All your advices and ideas will be greatly appreciated.

Milen

We were just discussing this here over the summer

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum1/HTML/009112.html

Though I'm told we are paying a bit more for miles now then we were then.

In answer to your questions, it's very easy to set up a program. No real problems.

The cost is discussed in the thread above, though I'm told we are paying a bit more now then we were then. When people get miles, we just upload a worksheet with the name, account number and number of miles to American (obviously we use AAdvantage miles) and they credit the people's account in a day or two.

Not sure much training at all would be necessary, when I look at the people in my office that do it I figure that anybody anyplace can do it.

Expect to pay something over 2/mile unless you're a much bigger customer than a home improvement business is likely to be.

The programs are incredibly easy to set up and to use. Training is a non-issue. Airlines want to encourage people to do this because they make money when they sell miles.

Each airline runs its own program. Pick an airline, call them, and ask.

Here is some info for AA

What is the AAdvantage Marketing Programs?
A: AAdvantage Marketing Programs offers companies the opportunity to purchase AAdvantage miles and use them as a highly desirable incentive. Businesses large and small can give miles to increase sales, reward or motivate employees, and thank business partners. It's an easy and cost-effective way to get results while offering something that everyone wants - travel

Here are just a few ways that companies can use AAdvantage miles:
Customer Acquisition and Retention
Customer Rewards
Loyalty Programs
Sales Promotions
Employee Motivation
Special Events
Fund Raising
Distributor Incentives
Business to Business Incentives/Rewards
If you would like more information on the AAdvantage Incentive Miles program please call 1-800-771-5000, or visit www.aadvantage.com

Minimum purchase is 250,000
At the minimum the price per mile is 2.2 cents per
There is an additional 7.5% tax
and a one time low setup fee

So 1,000,000 miles will cost you around $25,000.

Before anybody gets any ideas about buying 1M miles for themselves, the program only allows giving out a max of 35,000 per account per year.
