Matt...I knew you couldn't keep up the front forever! I bet Rudi knew your identity all along. He's been defending your alter-ego with unusual vigor. But about that "voice of reason" thing? I guess we're not in trouble after all. And Arturo...I may not be able to "keek ze habitual" but I'd be more than accommodating to keek ur but, but brain damage might result, and I know you can't afford that. (You see, I don't really believe Matt's confession. I think he's just trying to cover for Baobab). Boy, Catman must be really busy on his first day back to work. The Omni-Police are nowhere to be seen. What fun.

Merry, you were right on. This is considered an "international" forum. I was simply trying to imply, the fact remains that guidelines have to be implemented for quality control purposes and the people that implement them for FlyerTalk are United States based. Now some actual frequent flyer talk...........
The Freddies are of two distinctions- Americas/Domestic and International. And I give credit where credit is due, yes the Freddies were named after Sir Freddie Laker, a Brit, well known for his contributions to the travel industry. Randy Petersen created this award 11 years ago and now the Freddies are considered a very coveted award to receive. Especially so because the actual frequent flyers and frequent guests (from around the world I might add), vote on the programs they deem worthy. As far as the Freddies being recognized today as the ultimate travel industry standard to attain - that is due in large to the hard work and tireless effort of Randy Petersen himself. (Sir Laker has actually had nothing to do with the awards other than being named after him). Sir Freddie and Lady Jacqueline were for the first time invited as guests to this past Freddie Awards ceremony, and they graciously accepted. Randy, as I am sure you are well aware, is considered the world's foremost authority on frequent traveler programs and partners and anything to do with miles and points. aka "The Frequent Flyer Guru". This recognition has been bestowed upon him from the industry itself; for his significant contributions for travel consumers and the travel industry. (Not bad for a kid from Iowa, eh?) Again we enjoy having you as a "Talker" and keep talking!

NJD - I've been wondering the same thing.
Rudi hadn't posted any travel plans in the April thread... perhaps he is just watching us for now?
arturo - if the M refers to Merry, we know better... we talked about this ages ago, and he is no longer a suspect (the person behind the erstwhile roberto is far better at spelling than Nick!)

Premex, the Freddies will still be quite valuable....and if not we can use them to throw at each other as we debate censorship and the internet, cross dressing and alter egos.

NJDavid...I believe that even though Rudi usually remains neutral in these petty squables (he is Swiss, after all), I believe we will hear from him very soon. He does not take insults to or speculation of Arturo's identity lightly. And who said anything about cross-dressing?

..the heck??!!
Been away for a while, no communications, no email, no phones even, except outgoing and at certain hours (boring sotry), but I've got a feelin' that this is one time I'm glad I don't know what's going on here.
I'm not even gonna try to wade through this thing and try to understand all side of the issue of even just *exactly* what the issue with ***uchan was.
Speaking very personally, Merry's words:
"I have more respect for people who are man enough to use the word sorry that I do for people who are able to 'close' threads."
are quite sufficient to scare the crap outta me. Of us all, when he says "Hit the ground" I'm gonna listen!
What on earth has happened here?
