Glad you decided to post after all these years ...

UA flyers have also noticed that the inventory of upgradeable seats has been very hard to find lately.

I agree with Nobleoz...recently UA has become really stingy on doing upgrades even when there are lots of seats available. I'm on the waitlist of a BKK-NRT flight later this week. There looks to be about 40+ BC seats available. On the flight from NRT-BKK, they didn't upgrade me until the day before the flight when there were over 50% of the BC seats open. Being a 1K for the past 5 or so years, I'm getting frustrated about not getting upgraded more in advance. That's one of the main reasons I stay loyal to United. I appreciate the upgrades that UA give me, but I still feel UA needs to take better care of the customers who give them a lot of business. Just my opinion.

No advanced confirmation for my 4 flights last year.

Leaving for NRT on 881 on the 14th. Full fare C class with a SWU to F in. I'm a new GS (and new to the forum) and have not been cleared yet with 9 seats available.
