BA award ticket help needed
I have a business class award ticket from Seattle to Capetown via Jo-burg booked under the old award levels. I called today to change dates and was told any dates available involved a stopover and my ticket didn't allow that. The whole reason I had an itinerary
via jo-burg and not direct was so I could do a stopover, but because my original ticket was booked with only a 7 hr layover, not a 24+ hr layover, stopovers apparently are not allowed. Wish someone had told me at the time I made the booking. When BA announced the award changes it was made clear that routing changes were not allowed unless tickets were reissued, however it was also made clear that date and time changes were allowed which is all I want to do. I was also told that a stopover each way was permitted. Award customer service has been no help, even worse they get testy and act as if it is my fault. (I think it is a fair assumption that when I booked this ticket some of the reps were not completely up on all the gray areas.) The last answer I got today was, "nothing can be done, write a letter after I complete my trip"! ...Does anyone have any idea on what I do now or am I out of luck? Any reasonable people to call? A corporate number perhaps?

I agree with UpgradeMe, that this is better answered in the BA forum. Consequently I'll move it there for the experts on that airline to respond.
