I got an email today at my blog for a new tracking site.

No, I am not a paid advertiser but thought some may want to check it out.

The two owners offer a few new twists to an old site concept with their own valuations of airline miles and hotel points and a "buy or burn" type page.

I know nothing about them other than he was polite, professional in his approach and his site was well organized.

I hope it may be of benefit to the community.

I have never signed up for one of these sites. Is it really secure putting your pin/pw along with your account numbers on these?

I have been using points.com for years without problems.

But points.com is officially supported by a number of airlines, acruw only has that "trustwave" logo. I don't see much reason or benefit to hand over login data, but it seems if you like to track something you can also manually enter everything without exposing those.

I am musing multiple sites that over the years have improved and never had any issues. Some such as pageonce.com email you once there is any activity, so I feel very secure without any seals, logos, support or endorsements, etc.

I would guess that there are easier ways to stealing your information (dig in the trashcan or post on CC in this forum) than to build a site that interfaces with multiple airlines FF program info, even if it is a basic info retrieval, still quite a bit of work for a simple scam.

Your biggest concern should the department stores that are about to go bankrupt and who knows what they are doing to secure the credit card records.

Apparently you can track programs manually. From the site:

"Manually: Even if your program isn't setup to be tracked automatically, or if you would prefer to maintain your program details yourself, acruw also allows you to manually add and manage any of the programs in our database. Certain acruw features such as auto-updating balances, status level tracker and balance expiration reminders are not available for programs tracked manually."

I'll give the site a try if I have some time later..

I signed up for Accruw. I'm not overly impressed. I could do the same with a spreadsheet.

I am not impressed , but I found this site quite useful and with a potential for improvement in the future.
In addition to mile tracking, there are a few other nice features.
For example, the "points or pay" calculator and their analysis of point/mile value can be quite good references.

You have approximately $556 in total rewards (obviously not a big mileage junkie like most here being a broke student)

Interesting site. Just updated all my values by hand instead of providing passwords.

but i seem to be having issues with "pay or points". clicking airline or hotel does nothing for me, and therefore the page is useless.

and it also drives me crazy that i have to click away from the main body of the page to scroll with the arrow keys.

Just curious if anyone has been using the site mentioned by the OP, & if so how it has been treating them the last few months...

Could be very interesting, however they track zero of my ff programs (thay are totally USA-focused). I requested KLM FP, SAS EB and BA. Hope they start track them :-)

I've been wanting to respond to this post, ever since ingy posted it back in November. But, I've been waiting until we got acruw to a point where I felt comfortable actively sharing it with people - I just didn't think it would take this long.

For a brief acruw background, I started working on it with my brother about 2 years ago. It's a nights/weekend project that's taken a lot of hard work to build - more so than either of us expected. We just went live with our first major round of improvements to the site and are now actively in "get the word out" mode. There are two things I want to highlight about the changes below (as well as offer my email for additional questions/feedback)

• The process of adding programs is now much more streamlined, and more importantly, reliable. We'll still have the occasional temporary problems as we don't have 100% control over the adding process (it relies on the 3rd party site, as well).
  
• We have a new innovative approach to password security. We now give you the option if you'd like us to store your passwords on our servers. If you do, updating is the click of a button. If you don't, we prompt you for passwords at each update.
