I've been wanting to respond to this post, ever since ingy posted it back in November. But, I've been waiting until we got acruw to a point where I felt comfortable actively sharing it with people - I just didn't think it would take this long.
For a brief acruw background, I started working on it with my brother about 2 years ago. It's a nights/weekend project that's taken a lot of hard work to build - more so than either of us expected. We just went live with our first major round of improvements to the site and are now actively in "get the word out" mode. There are two things I want to highlight about the changes below (as well as offer my email for additional questions/feedback)
- The process of adding programs is now much more streamlined, and more importantly, reliable. We'll still have the occasional temporary problems as we don't have 100% control over the adding process (it relies on the 3rd party site, as well).
- We have a new innovative approach to password security. We now give you the option if you'd like us to store your passwords on our servers. If you do, updating is the click of a button. If you don't, we prompt you for passwords at each update.
Thanks!
Tim
