Elite status on US to use for UA build?

Hi- we were upgraded by our company a few years back by UA to Premier Exec, we are AA Platinums and want to get upgraded / matched again and were told it's one time- and that's it.. What if we get US to match us? Would we get the bonus miles on UA flights towards UA status? We are actually trying to build elite status on UA.. hope this makes sense.

The folks on the UA/US boards will be more helpful, but I'm pretty sure that the underlying answer is no, a US Airways elite status won't accelerate your quest for UA status. A US Airways elite status might make traveling on UA more pleasant, but you'd still have to accumulate UA status-qualifying miles at the normal rate if you truly want to get back to UA Premier or higher status.

I would take the US comp status for the benefits of check-in and security lines, pre-boarding and priority status. However, I would make sure all miles are credited to the UAL M+ account as to build status.

Use the US benefits while accureing UAL status. I am not sure this will work but it is worth investigation. Just remember, you will loose your one-shot status upgrade with US but if UA status is what you are looking for, then it shouldn't matter.
