which FF account to use for KLM flight?

Given that Air France is acquiring KLM, should I use my Delta or Northwest account for an upcoming intl flight?

Who is more likely to give me special treatment if I am a United Premier Exec. member?

Though it is far from clear, I it sounds like you are flying KLM on a paid ticket and wondering where to credit the miles earned.

First, you need to define "upcoming," since DL and KL are not yet partners.

Second, I seriously doubt that KL will care that you have status with UA, even if you tell them.

Alaska Air might recognize your status with UA with MVP Gold and then you can get 100% bonus with AS for KLM flights. NW might also give you a higher status if that is your goal.

AFAIK Air France and KLM will operate under a common holding structure, but maintain their own identity for at least another eight years - and thus presumably own FFPs as well.

Don't forget Continental also will give full elite credit for KLM flights. KLM doesn't give much recognition to CO/NW elites, much less UA.

Is it just me, or is nobody answering the question here?

__________

"...should I use my Delta or Northwest account for an upcoming intl flight?" (on KLM)

__________

Answer: Use your Northwest account. You UA status will get you zero and in fact, status with Northwest has never gotten me anything with KLM, either. But you WILL get full elite qualifying miles and whatever status bonuses you may be entitled to with Northwest, just as if you'd flown a Northwest flight.
