You can try calling up the BA Executive CLub here in London or indeed in the States. They can probably tell you how to use your AirMiles with AA. alternatively, try contacting AirMiles direct here in Britain on 0990-511806 or check out their website at www.airmiles.co.uk

Benny, as far as I can know, the AA award requiring the lowest no. of miles is a RT economy ticket within the US and Canada for 25K miles. AS has an upgrade award for 15K miles. You can top off you BA account with points from AMEX MR or DC Club Points (assuming you are enrolled to either or both of these programs).

points to top off British Air miles, but I
don't think British is a member of AMEX
Membership Rewards (if that's what you meant
by M-R.) Virgin Atlantic is, but British is
not, neither is American or United.
The AT&T offer might be worth considering,
Benny if you have this phone program and your
8-thousand miles are expiring anytime soon.

Catman-- I stand corrected. You are absolutely right. BA does not participate in AMEX MR. I got a little confused there-- I really meant AT&T (I just closed my True Rewards account in favor of getting miles on BA instead). Thanks for the correction Catman. Sorry for the confusion Benny.

BA does participate in the Sheraton Club International (SCI) American Express Optima Card, which allows you to transfer SCI miles into over 15 airline programs (each US$1 spent gets 1 SCI mile).

If you REALLY want to transfer Amex MR points to BA, here's how. First, move your MR points to Marriott's rewards program. You can then use those Marriott points to "buy" BA miles. It is not 1 for 1, however. 30,000 Marriott points can get you 10,000 BA miles. So if you have 90,000 miles in Amex MR, you can convert them to 30,000 miles with BA. It is probably not the best use of your MR points, but it can be done.
