Delta Changes
Is anyone able to keep up with the Delta changes. I love the company but are they ever back and forth. A year or so ago they threaten to charge for drinks in the Crown Room, then they back off of that...good idea!
They they overhaul the mileage program (some good and some bad) but the peeve point for me was that if you (by some miracle) got a great fare, that you couldn't upgrade until 24 hours (if Platinum) and now this change?
***EXERPT from E-mail***
Unlimited, complimentary 500-Mile Upgrades* will be provided to Platinum Medallion members purchasing Y, B and M fare classes (at time of booking) and to Gold and Silver Medallion members purchasing Y and B fare classes (within 100 hours of departure for Gold Medallion members and within 72 hours of departure for Silver Medallion members), subject to availability. This modification replaces previously announced Platinum Medallion upgrade guidelines planned for January 1, 2004.
My question is...don't something like the top 5% of flyers account for 40% of the airlines revenue. Why do they keep trying to make it harder and less rewarding to do business with one airline.
Now, having said all of that, I do fly almost exclusively Delta and just hope that I can one day re-learn the new program and go from there!
Have a great trip!
