Apply for 2 AE cards?

I have an Optima now with no annual fee. Considering buying a good amount of i Bond before end of year. Should I bother getting Starwood AE card (waive annual fee first year)? Or should I just use Discover card and get cash back instead?

Amex can be a little tight when it comes to combined credit limits. So they might give you a Starwood card with a low limit, even if you have a high limit on the other Optima. If you decide to go that route, you might want to talk to them about switching your credit limit to the new card.

The real question is whether you value the Starpoints more than the amount you get from Discover. I've got a Discover, but usually use my SPG Amex, but it really is a personal decision.
