George Clooney to star in movie about mileage collector

How many FT devotees will be lined up for the premiere of this?!

HOLLYWOOD REPORTER

As if his status weren't elevated enough, George Clooney may now be taking flight for DreamWorks.

Clooney is in talks to star in "Up in the Air," an adaptation of the 2001 Walter Kirn novel, with Oscar-nominated "Juno" director Jason Reitman behind the camera.

The Oscar-winning actor will inhabit an unapologetic corporate downsizer whose untethered life is consumed by collecting air miles.

I wonder if the writer was lurking around FT to get ideas for the screenplay.

I've read the book and to be honest, didn't like it. Of course, I'll still go see the movie based on the topic alone.

I have to confess too; that book was too boring, but I still have it somewhere.

Clooney needs to join FT to be a full-fledged mile collector.

As a top actor, he needs to live the part, so some FT lurking/ranting/scheming would definitely be good preparation for this role.

Who are the main characters in 'Up in the Air'?
Anyone we'd know? Is FT, IF or anything related already in the book, so possibly also in the script?

I hope that if something happens and this one goes ahead, we can read about it here.

I didn't care for the book either, but sometimes, the movie is better. They should be able to do some interesting things with a character like that.

I'll have to pick up the book one of these days, just for the sake of saying I've read it but I'm definitely looking forward as to how this movie will turn out!

Secretly I was hoping that they would get Brad Pitt to play me, but I guess George Clooney isn't too bad.

Wonder how many new members this movie will generate? or, How much harder it will become to confirm FF awarded flights?
