Quick way for 15k UAL miles?

I'm trying to purchase a business class tkt to Pakistan for Dec.

They actually have seats avail - but I need another 15k UAL miles. Aside from paying $400 to buy them any quick ways to get them in the next 2-3 weeks? I've got the credit card already..

Any ideas?
Can I convert USAIR miles?

You cannot directly convert US miles to UA ones. The only way to do this without flying (which would likely cost less than what UA would charge you for the miles) would be with partner activities. Since you already have the credit card, order some extra cards. I think that you get 2000 miles per card. Get 5 and you're 2/3 there. Register for idine and see if there are any participating restaurants in your area (maybe some that you go to anyway). Just go through the partner list on the UA site and pick some high miles/low cost bonuses. You should be able to get your miles easily.

It would be an absolute miracle if any of these partner bonuses posted in 2 - 3 weeks.
Generally speaking, these bonus miles take months to post. I am still waiting on my bonus miles for extra cards I received in April and several others on this board have reported similar experiences.

Not very realistic. ahanif obviously thinks that: (1) purchasing an international business class ticket (to Pakistan) is either not worth the cost or is beyond his financial means; and (2) taking a longhaul flight (to Pakistan) in coach is unappealing and unacceptible, so why would he choose one of those two options to take a mileage run to Singapore in order to facilitate his later trip to Pakistan?

This strategy is not a viable option either. First, FirstUSA (Bank One) has apparently ended the 2,500 mile per extra card promotion (which was reportedly limited to four new cards only as well). And second, as dogcanyon reports and I can verify, many of us who ordered the extra cards months ago have still yet to receive the promised bonus miles.

I wish I had a viable suggestion for ahanif. Short of splurging on a $1,500 meal (or meals) at a participating iDine restuarant, I don't have any bright ideas. But one strategy to buy a little extra time to accrue the requisite miles would be to politely ask UA to roll over (extend) the hold on the desired frequent flier award as the deadline for its automatic expiration approaches.

There currently is a 15k mile bonus for signing up for a UA affiliated credit card.

In order to solicit more ideas, I'm going to move the thread to the (more appropriate) United forum.
