What is the best program available these days?

I am a FF on UA. I am becoming more disenchanted daily on the level of service they are providing and will be switching to another airline. Which airline do you think offers the best customer loyalty, upgrades, amenities, etc??

Warm welcome to FlyerTalk, socaltroj.

The best program for you might be with Vietnam Airline. Since you provided all information about you flying pattern and prefererrd class, I came to this conclusion.

Sorry, did not take it serious enought. Actually, AV (Avianca) and S3 (Santa Babara Airline) would as well suit your needs.

I've never heard of those airlines - thanks for the great reply - I'll look into those right away.

With one year of flyer talk experience, you should know that someone can not answere your question just like this. There are many components, and actually, it might be possible that one of the airlines would actually suit you best (whereby I doubt it.)
Where are you located,
What is your flying pattern,
What class do you travel in,
What kind of service you expect,
What kind of results you want to have,
all this could help to get you the best program.
But, actually, I think, you will stick to United Mileage Plus.

"The best program available" is like happiness - it means different things to different people. For some the best program is always "the other airline's program".

Maybe because of all the SWUs the OP purchased on eBay he is being "encouraged" by UA to move on.

How about an airline allows you flying in F all the time for free?

How to Make Friends and Influence Enemies

....talk about turning a guy off before he even begins........you people are kind of hard.

socaltroj....go with AAdvantage. The miles from credit card bonuses and transactions and all other ways of getting miles count toward lifetime elite status levels. I think this is your best bet.

Speaking of "elite"....don't make any mistakes here on FlyerTalk....or you will be taken to the mast with terrible fury and great speed.

Wow - everyone is so harsh - too harsh to keep in the spirit of community forum that this board espouses?

I actually find this to be an interesting question - we all get stuck in various programs because of habit or location. What if we took geography out of the equation? I've only had experiences with skyteam airlines, and would love to hear what people think and what the main reason is.
I'll re-pose the question - all things being equal and kinda in the abstract:
Which program do you think is the best one and why?

Like I posted above, maybe the responses here are due to the OP's other posts.
