Blackout and Miles
Hey Everybody--
Ok, so here's the thing. The first time I tried to use my miles I booked an AA flight out of JFK to LAX departing in the afternoon on 9/11/2001 to attend a friend's wedding. Obviously, that never happened. The second time I tried using my miles was when I booked a trip to Hawaii on DL/UA to try to attend a friend's wedding. Although this trip was cancelled on Monday, I was supposed to depart yesterday out of JFK again. Am I jinxed when it comes to mileage travel or am I just being paranoid?

Oh, come now, I'm sure it isn't you!
I have trips cancelled all the time. And I have weather/mechanical/force majeure events all the time. Anyone who travels alot -- especially who travels alot for reasons other than strictly vacation/leisure -- will have such issues.
And two events is hardly enough to induce...
Besides, I'm pretty sure that in both cases, the events had little to do with you having been ticketed. Pretty sure that 9/11 was caused by other things. And unless you found yourself near a New York power grid...

Could you post in advance when you plan to travel so we can call make sure we are not travelling on the same days?
