Question about Amtrak FF program

I see that I can exchange up to 25,000 Amtrak points for United Airlines miles. I also see the same can be done for Continental and Midwest Express. The exchange is on a 1:1 basis -- no lost value.

Is there a way to exchange CO miles to Amtrak? If so, then that would be a perfect way to move miles from CO to UA.

Transfer X miles CO -> Amtrak, then transfer X miles Amtrak -> UA, with no lost value.

Is this possible?

Call Onepass, ask to transfer miles (in 5000 mile) increments.

It takes a few minutes, IME. You'll spend longer looking for how to transfer than it would take to call CO!

Do a search for "amtrak" on the CO forum or "continental" on the amtrak one, and you'll probably get the backup you need.\

Sigh. You don't even have to do a search. If you just looked in the Amtrak forum, you'd see the active thread, Transfers between airline miles and Amtrak points which covers everything you need to know, or will be a much more likely place to get a definitive answer from those who do know.

Mods, do as you will.

Thanks for the info. I didn't know we had an Amtrak forum. Now I do.
