Miles for Magazines
I have accumulated over 300,000 Continental FF miles but will be unable to fly again for some time. I was wondering if I could use those miles for something else, for example, magazine subscriptions or movie DVD's, as I have more time now for reading, viewing, etc.
Any suggestions?

Welcome to FT, ScarletEd2!
A quick check of the Continental One Pass website shows your options include magazine subscriptions, a merchandise website and online auctions which offer merchandise. You can also donate miles to charity.
That said, 300,000 is a fair amount of miles, and using them for merchandise won't give you a pretty low value on a per mile basis (something FTers are always very conscious of). Any chance you'll be able to resume flying before the miles expire? You can also maintain the balance past the expiration date by using Continental's affinity credit card or doing business with one of their partners.

That's a lot of miles to use on magazines.
You could move them 1:1 to Amtrak Guest Rewards and redeem for $3,000 worth of $100 gift cards (10,000 points each):
Budget® - $100 Gift Certificate
Hertz - $100 Award Check Voucher
Hyatt Hotels & Resorts - $100 Hyatt Check Certificate
Barnes & Noble Booksellers - $100 Gift Card
Bath & Body Works® - $100 Gift Card
Bloomingdale's - $100 Gift Card
Chili's® - $100 Gift Card
On The Border Mexican Grill® - $100 Gift Card
Maggiano's Little Italy - $100 Gift Card
Romano's Macaroni Grill® - $100 Gift Card
Gap - $100 Gift Card
Linens'n Things - $100 Gift Card
Macy's - $100 Gift Card
Pottery Barn® - $100 Gift Card
Red Lobster®/Olive Garden® - $100 Gift Card
Ruth's Chris Steak House - $100 Gift Card
SpaFinder - $100 Gift Card
Staples® - $100 Gift Card
The Home Depot® - $100 Gift Card
The Sports Authority® - $100 Gift Card
Also, train travel would be an option with Amtrak Guest Rewards. If you are unable to fly, you might consider taking the train, traveling in the comfort of a sleeper.
