Need advise where to send StarPoints

We routinely use JAX airport, so have option to use most major airlines. I have about 430,000 mileage accrual activity so far with AA (470,000 shy of earning any elite status). With potential merger between DL and NWA, I will have about same amount in DL. I don't much care about upgrades with elite status, just earn bonus miles while traveling.

Currently I am in dillemma where to divert ~ 65,000 Starpoints.

Can any of you "gurus" see in your crystall balls and advise me that with the current changes at AA, what would be my best option?

What is the rush to divert them? It sounds like you have plenty of redeemable miles already w/ AA & DL. I'd just keep them as Starpoints, maybe even use them for hotel stays, until such a time comes that the conversion fills an immediate need.

I agree, if you wait, you can choose between an airline transfer or perhaps you nights and flights according to your need.

Hotel points (especially SPG) are generally much more valuable than airline miles.

Are you referring to Lifetime Gold elite status? You get that at 1 million miles. You can get annual Gold, Platinum and ExecPlat for much less than that.
