TACA miles at half price until May 31
Ramfunes has posted this in the other North and South American section that I'm posting here for a wider audience.
Apparently TACA is selling miles for 1.25 cents per mile through May 31. I have no experience with TACA but apparently you can buy as much as you want in 32,000 miles blocks. You can buy in blocks of 32,000 miles online and it says no limit to the amount purchased.
I have no experience with TACA but according to the award chart U.S. to South America is 70,000 to 80,000 miles in business class depending on the season. This means you could potentially buy a non-mileage earning business class ticket from the U.S. to South America (from TACA hubs) for $1000. I will be researching this more tonight but thought other people might be interested as well. It seems like potentially a great deal.

The link seems to be broken
Was very excited about this post, since I was already looking to get a ticket with Taca. However, following the specials 'Miles at half the price' link takes you back to the main page, where you buy miles for regular 25$/1000miles.
I emailed the customer service about that, and got no reply. Has anyone tried that?

Not sure if this has been mentioned already, but this offer is back until Sept 30th. New accounts that are created after the promo started do not qualify for 50% off offer. DOH!

I picked up a bunch of miles on their last promo offer, but I am unable to find any Clase Ejecutiva availability SJO-JFK, so these miles are not worth much to me. The one good use I found was SJO-PTY a couple of weeks ago when the coach fare was $750 and I was able to redeem 14,000 miles.
